“We saw the need to introduce something very unique & premium for our Marathi audience and that is how Unplugged Marathi Live was conceptualised. The best part about putting together UML was to ensure that music is created not by using electronic synthesizers, but is brought alive by various musical instruments with unique qualities that echo in our unplugged compositions. The grandeur of UML not only reflected in the carefully selected experimental musical instruments and the stage design, but was also extended to the detailing of costumes for our performers at UML. The huge success of our first UML show has ignited in us the passion to continue this musical journey by introducing even more exciting ideas,” says Sujit Kote, Senior VP and National Head, Hansa Events.
Special performances by stars from the Marathi Film Industry added sparkle to the night. Popular actress Mukta Barve’s performance with her friend, Vaishali Samant, reflected the deep bond the two talented women shared, on the stage. Famous lyricist, Ashwini Shende’s poems infused a beautiful narrative while Vaishali crooned one of her beautiful songs. Jaydeep Bhagwadkar’s partnership with Vaishali reflected ease and comfort throughout the evening as they sang several duets together. Renowned director, Kedar Shinde’s performance with Vaishali brought smiles on a lot of faces.
Avinash-Vishwajeet, the music director duo from Marathi Music Industry, led the audience into a transient world of what UML’s next show, soon to be visiting Thane – Mumbai, would be like. Their performance with Priyanka Barve was laced with a perfect blend of rhythm and music. The magic of live music was brought to the audience by the Indian Music Industry’s stalwart musicians like Prashant Ohol on the Piano, Pradeepto Sengupta who played the Mandolin, Amit Poojar on the Guitar, Nilesh Purab who led the rhythms with a blend of African drums, Congas & Djembes.
